The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

This is a watercolor from my sketchbook. I love to sit in front of a subject such as this and paint without drawing. It takes practice but it is easier than my students think. It is based on size relationships, and painted almost entirely with a small flat brush.
