I loved the card. Message inside was perfect (just like I requested) Only comment - the picture seemed too large for the card (glue showing on the side) Next time I will down size the picture. I have ordered many cards from fineartamerica and have been very pleased with the artist selection and quality of the art. Paul Cutright

Lovely. Colors are true. Plan to purchase same image in a larger size.
This is a watercolor sketch from one of my many watercolor journals, done when I was visiting Lakeside in the summer. I paint without drawing the subject in order to save time. It takes concentration, but it is rewarding. Oh, how I wished I had used sunscreen! There are no shade trees on the dock!
Mary Ann Boysen, (440-667-7276) Chagrin Falls watercolorist since 1974, began her career when she moved there by doing sketches of local landmarks. Then she attempted painting in watercolor, which had been her desire since college. After studying with Florian Lawton, Lowell Ellsworth Smith, and numerous other experienced watercolorists from around the country, she blossomed with courage and determination to have this as her medium of choice. Having only studied watercolor for one year and three months, she won Best in Show at Gates Mills in April of 1975. Wanting to catch up after years of no artistic endeavor, she painted 10 to 12 hours a day…stopping only to feed and clothe her children, help with homework, drive them to activities and...

Thank you for your purchase in Murrysville, PA. This painting was done in my painting sketchbook, with only a rush and no pencil. I never want to spend the time sketching and possibly erasing, etc. so I just start in the middle of what I want to paint with a square, flat brush...in this case for the windows of the pavilion. Each step comparing the size with the next object. ....and so forth. Because It was not a particularly hot day, nor the sun so bright, I was able to sit there without too much sun exposure. Shadows were added last to create the illusion of light.
Maryann Boysen replied:
I meant "brush" and no pencil (in the first line)
